Air Serbia launches direct flights from Niš to Vienna and Malta

Air Serbia today officially commenced two direct routes from Niš, to Vienna and Malta, providing passengers from southern Serbia with direct connections to these important European destinations. 

Flights between Niš and Vienna, as well as between Niš and Malta, will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. With the introduction of these routes, the national airline continues to develop its operations from Niš Constantine the Great Airport and improve international air connectivity for southern Serbia.

“By commencing direct services from Niš to Vienna and Malta, we are continuing to develop Air Serbia’s network and offer passengers from southern Serbia additional travel opportunities. Both destinations are highly important for tourism and business travel, as well as for Serbian citizens living and working abroad. We believe the new routes will contribute to the further development of traffic from Niš Constantine the Great Airport and enable passengers from Niš and the wider region to travel more easily and affordably to important international destinations,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

Vienna, the capital of Austria, is one of the most important business, cultural and administrative centres. Known for its rich historical heritage, magnificent architecture and numerous cultural landmarks, including Schönbrunn Palace, the Hofburg Palace and St Stephen’s Cathedral, the Austrian capital attracts visitors throughout the year. Thanks to the strong economic, historical and cultural ties between Serbia and Austria, the direct route from Niš is particularly important for passengers visiting family and friends.

Malta, an island nation in the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its pleasant climate, rich cultural and historical heritage and diverse tourist attractions. The capital, Valletta, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while numerous beaches, historical sites and picturesque coastal towns make Malta an attractive destination throughout the year. The new direct route will also make travel easier for Serbian citizens living and working in Malta, as well as their families.
