The first flight to Alicante: Air Serbia expands its network in Spain
02 June 2026
Air Serbia has today officially launched a direct service between Belgrade and Alicante, one of the most popular tourist destinations on Spain’s Costa Blanca. Flights between Belgrade and this sunny Mediterranean city will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, using Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.
“By introducing direct flights between Belgrade and Alicante, we are continuing the strategic expansion of our destination network in Spain and further enhancing connectivity with one of the most attractive Mediterranean markets. Alicante is a destination that will appeal to travellers from Serbia and the wider region, as it offers much more than a traditional beach holiday - from the renowned Costa Blanca coastline and Mediterranean lifestyle, to its rich history, authentic gastronomy, and a wide range of attractions catering to a variety of traveller needs,” said Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
Air Serbia currently operates direct flights from Belgrade to six destinations in Spain - Madrid, Barcelona, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Valencia, and as of today, Alicante as well. Further expansion of the network in Spain is planned in the coming period. From September, the airline is set to launch new services to the island of Tenerife and Seville, further strengthening connectivity between Serbia and one of Europe’s most attractive tourism markets.
Alicante is a city on Spain’s south-eastern coast and one of the Mediterranean’s most renowned destinations. It is known for its long sandy beaches, mild weather all year round, and a rich offering for tourists. The city also serves as the gateway to the famous Costa Blanca, a region that is home to popular destinations such as Benidorm, Altea, and Elche.
The new route further expands the range of destinations available to passengers, particularly during the summer season, when demand for Mediterranean destinations is traditionally higher. With the introduction of flights to Alicante, Air Serbia continues to develop its network of popular tourist destinations, making it easier for travellers to plan holidays and stays in one of the best-known regions of the Spanish coast.
